The difference between sportbeeper and sports apps

The first-generation Sportbeeper was designed by Georges Gacon over 15 years ago. The new version was designed in 2020. Between these two dates, digital technology has continued to progress. Numerous sports applications have seen the light of day. Tabata-type sports applications are now competing with Sportbeeper Pro. However, Sportbeeper Pro still has many advantages over these sports applications. We’ll mention them one by one.

  • Facilitating training

First of all, the sportbeeper’s sound volume is particularly powerful because it has been designed for outdoor use. This means that smartphones can’t match the intensity of the sportbeeper’s sound.

A mute is available to reduce the volume during your exercises, particularly indoors.

Moreover, with Sportbeeper, players don’t have to get used to changes in equipment if they have different trainers. So they don’t get lost and it makes training easier.

  • Tab-odometer

One of the new features of Sportbeeper Pro compared with the first-generation Sportbeeper is the introduction of the tab-odometer. This feature displays on-screen the distances to be covered for each sequence as a function of speed. The tab-odometer is particularly popular with users, as it makes it easy to set up. What’s more, the tab-odometer is not included in the various applications.

  • Cadenceur 3.6 Gacon

The cadenceur 3.6 was invented by Georges Gacon. This tool makes it possible to precisely measure the speed of movement, which can be useful during a player’s re-athletisation phase. This programme allows the player to run at a constant speed.

  • Level pace work

Unlike tabata-type applications, sportbeeper doesn’t just have intermittent exercises. In fact, sportbeeper Pro includes libraries that allow you to work on your pace, as well as step-by-step work.

  • Portability

As well as being easy to use, the sportbeeper is also extremely easy to transport. The sportbeeper fits in one hand, so you can go anywhere with it.

  • Versatile tool

The sportbeeper is a relatively versatile tool. It has two main menus. The first is the training menu, where you’ll find intermittent, pace and plateau exercises. Various VMA tests make up the second menu, which is called the ‘testing’ menu. So you don’t need an application for a training programme or a VMA test. Sportbeeper combines all these functions.

  • Recognised by specialists

Sportbeeper Pro is used by many professional clubs in France and abroad (Belgium, Morocco, Algeria, UAE, etc.). Its features make it multi-sport. It can be used in a wide range of sports, including football, athletics, combat sports, gymnastics, basketball, racket sports, etc. Sportbeeper can therefore be of considerable help to physical trainers and PE teachers alike.
